How Do Your Kidneys Work?

Located at the back of the abdomen, your kidneys are a pair of bean-shaped organs that filter blood. Through this filtration, the kidneys keep fluid levels in balance and ensure that vital levels of nutrients, such as potassium, sodium, and electrolytes, remain the bloodstream. Any waste or excess fluid is removed from the blood and made into urine.

Although they are the functional organs of the urinary system, you probably don’t give much thought to your kidneys until something goes wrong.

This World Kidney Day, we’re here to change that.

From representing gross anatomy and conditions in the BioDigital Human app

to visualizing complex kidney functions for the National Kidney Foundation’s CME program,

our platform leverages interactive 3D to engage all learners and increase awareness about this vital organ.

We can enhance your current CME or clinical education content to improve learner retention and engagement.
