The surgical experience can be daunting, confusing, and scary for patients with craniofacial differences and their families. To ease these anxieties, we partnered with myFace to develop a comprehensive tool that would engage, educate, and guide patients through their craniofacial procedure.

“With the help of BioDigital, we seek to relieve the stress and anxiety surrounding craniofacial surgery, as well as to build understanding with the populace-at-large regarding what craniofacial patients and families endure,” said myFace.

CIVA, the Craniofacial Interactive Virtual Assistant, is a cloud-based educational tool that showcases eight common craniofacial operations in interactive 3D. These explorable visualizations are customized for the patient audience and contain additional multimedia that explain surgical techniques and pre- and post-operative care.

CIVA also contains Nurse Practitioner Consultation and Patient/Family Experience portals that provide professional guidance and personal anecdotes, along with additional medical and technical support.
